Day 1 - Perth to Cervantes
Your 8 Day Perth to Exmouth adventure departs between 7.30am – 8:30am and then heads north along the beautiful Sunset Tourist Drive via Scarborough Beach. Your first stop is at Yanchep National Park for a close encounter with some wild koalas. Next you will have the chance to try sand boarding at Lancelin or watch the action and scenic views. After lunch you will travel to Cervantes where there is time walk down to the ocean for a swim and maybe see some of the local Sea Lions swimming close to shore. Your next highlight is Nambung National Park to see the world famous Pinnacles Desert at Sunset, one of the best times to see these mystical limestone statues. You will spend tonight in Cervantes (Dorms). Breakfast & Lunch included.
Day 2 - Cervantes to Kalbarri
This morning your journey continues travelling north up the coast passing through historical Greenough stopping to see the unique horizontal trees. Arrive mid morning at Hutt River Province, a small breakaway country and the second largest on this continent. Meet a prince and hear about his passion for his own country. Don’t forget to bring your passport you will receive this country’s stamp! Your journey continues to the Kalbarri coast which will take your breath away with its beauty. Migrating whales can be seen from the clifftops of Kalbarri in season. You will spend tonight in Kalbarri (Dorms). Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.
Day 3 - Kalbarri to Shark Bay
Today you will explore deep into Kalbarri National Park to the awesome Z-Bend gorge for some optional abseiling and a hike into this 400 million year old landscape. When time & weather permits we can enjoy a swim in a secluded pool, then hike up to Nature’s Window. After lunch you continue north into the Midwest Outback, land of few people and huge sheep stations. Discover the strange Hamelin Pool stromatolites, some of the oldest organisms on Earth and believed to be among the first producers of oxygen, before entering the World Heritage area of Shark Bay and the unique Shell Beach. Tonight you stay in Monkey Mia (Dorms. No ensuite for upgrades) Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.
Day 4 - Shark Bay to Outback Sheep Station
This morning in Monkey Mia you will meet the world famous Bottlenose Dolphins. Experience a real close encounter as they swim into shore. Enjoy some free time to explore the town or stroll along the beach. Continuing North your tour takes you to Eagle Bluff, from our clifftop spot you may see below lots of wildlife including sharks. You can begin to see why the locals call this area Big Sky Country, home to the second longest straight road in Australia. Tonight we have exclusive use of an Outback Sheep Station shearers quarters; really rustic and great fun – take a ride in the back of a ute to a private beach for sunset, toast marshmallows on the campfire, sit and soak up the ambience of the Outback, test your astronomy skills at our million-star accommodation, and if you like, you can take your bed outside and fall asleep to the sight of the milky-way and the sounds of the Outback. Sheep Station shearers quarters, twin share (no upgrade available). Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.
Day 5 - Coral Bay to Exmouth
This morning you travel to Coral Bay famous for the beautiful Ningaloo Reef metres from the white sandy shoreline. Today is full of optional activities; you can sit on the beach and swim, hire snorkel and fins to explore the reef yourself, take a glass bottom boat for a guided tour of what the reef has to offer, or join the Eco day tour to swim with the Coral Bay manta rays (includes lunch). After spending an incredible day in Coral Bay you will journey to the Northwest Cape and into Exmouth arriving in the evening. Tonight you will stay at Potshot Resort (Dorms). We have use of all Resort facilities which include 2 swimming pools, bars and restaurants. Breakfast & Dinner included.
Day 6 - Explore Exmouth
Today is a free day in Exmouth for you to explore. There are day cruises with Whale Sharks (in season, optional), dive charters to the outer reef (optional), or you can join your tour guide and explore Cape Range and Turquoise Bay. Hire snorkeling equipment (optional) and splash straight into the amazing underwater garden of the Ningaloo Reef either in the Bay or on the Drift. This snorkeling spot is famous for seeing a myriad of coloured fish. You can often see turtles and octopus too. Continue your journey to Vlamingh Head lighthouse for spectacular views over the tip of the peninsular before heading back to town. Tonight you will stay at Potshot Resort Exmouth (Dorms). Breakfast & Lunch included.
Day 7 & 8 - Exmouth to Perth
It’s time to head back to Perth, we travel south down the highway towards our overnight stop at the Old Convent at Northampton where spooky things can happen. We will stop along the way regularly for anything we may see of interest also fuel, lunch, toilets etc. Overnight – Old Convent, Northampton (Same sex Dorms. No ensuite for upgrades)
Travelling further back down the highway we arrive in Perth at our start point at approximately lunch time.
